Buying Wholesale for your shoppe

If you own a store or retail gift shoppe then you need product. Sometimes it takes hours on end looking for the perfect items to carry in your store. Here are a few guidelines and tips that we have learned on buying wholesale.

There are so many places to find good quality merchandise. Personally I like handmade items for my shoppe. There are many design companies that provide good quality as well as handmades. Lets start by talking about Wholesale Trade Shows.

Wholesale Trade Shows are hosted in many cities across the United States. These are places to go to buy ready made product or cash and carry as it is called. If you are looking for a wholesale trade show in your state, type in your search engine the name of the state and wholesale trade show. That should bring up some links to follow. Make sure you are prepared to have the proper documents to sign up as a buyer for the shows. You will need proof that you are in resale business. Usually they require 3 forms of ID

  • A Business Check
  • A Bill in business name
  • an ad placed for your business
  • Resale Tax ID
  • These are usually what it takes to attend the shows

Another way to buy wholesale for your store is a Wholesale Gift Mart show. In our area we have The Columbus Marketplace. These marketplaces usually have monthly shows.

You need the same forms of ID to enter these shows. They are huge and you place orders with the Rep Companies that carry what you are looking for. The Rep Company then places the order with the manufacturer that they represent.

Another way to buy wholesale is to search online. That is why we are here. We want to have so much info and product for you that it saves you tons of time, and you walk away with a great experience and great handmade product. Here are some of the Wholesale Trade Shows and Gift Marts that we find lots of goodies at.

Their online business has brought the opportunity to open a physical store in their Ohio hometown where they carry primitive furniture, dolls and of course their unique primitive candles.
